{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-334.140","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 334.140","heading":"Kentucky Licensing Board for Specialists in Hearing Instruments.","body":"(1) There is created the Kentucky Licensing Board for Specialists in Hearing\nInstruments.\n(2) The board shall be composed of nine (9) members who shall be appointed by the\nGovernor. Terms of office shall be at the Governor's discretion, not to exceed four\nyears. All terms shall expire on July 31 of the designated year. Each member shall\nserve for the term of his appointment and until his successor has been appointed and\nqualified. If a vacancy occurs on the board, a new member shall be appointed to\nserve out th e unexpired term. No member shall serve consecutive terms on the\nboard. Upon recommendation of the board, the Governor may remove any member\nof the board for excessive absenteeism, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office.\n(3) Five (5) members shall be sp ecialists in hearing instruments licensed under KRS\n334.080. The appointees shall have at least five (5) years' relevant experience. The\nGovernor shall consider nominations from the Hearing Aid Association of\nKentucky. No two (2) members from the same plac e of business may serve on the\nboard at the same time.\n(4) One (1) member shall be a physician licensed to practice medicine in Kentucky and\nspecializing in otology or otolaryngology.\n(5) One (1) member shall be an audiologist holding at least a master's d egree from a\nrecognized college or university and having the certification of clinical competence\nin audiology from the American Speech -Language-Hearing Association and\nlicensed under KRS Chapter 334A.\n(6) One (1) member shall be a citizen at large who is not associated with or financially\ninterested in the practice or business regulated.\n(7) One (1) member shall be the secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family\nServices or his designee.\n(8) Five (5) members of the nine (9) members of the board, when pr operly convened,\nmay conduct the business of the board.","path":["KRS Chapter 334"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31881","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:23Z","sha256":"d2c7350efbc4ff7829ad3ed91b449e8d80438d1d0e23298bf9545edb1caed745","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-334.135","next":"us-ky/krs-334.150"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
