{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-335.090","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 335.090","heading":"License, licensed social worker -- Requirements -- Issuance.","body":"(1) The board shall issue a license as \"licensed social worker\" to an applicant who\nmeets the following requirements:\n(a) Is at least eighteen (18) years of age;\n(b) 1. Has received a baccalaureate degree in a social work or social welfare\nprogram accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; or\n2. Has received a baccalaureate degree and has completed courses\nequivalent to a social work or social welfare program as determined  by\nthe board;\n(c) Has paid to the board an examination fee established by the board by\npromulgation of an administrative regulation;\n(d) Has passed an examination approved by the board; and\n(e) Has paid an initial license fee established by the board by p romulgation of an\nadministrative regulation.\n(2) The license shall be displayed in the licensee's principal place of practice and, in the\ncase of virtual or remote practice, shall be made accessible to clients through\nelectronic means or other appropriate forms of notification, and shall entitle the\nlicensee to hold himself or herself forth to the public as providing services as\nauthorized by KRS 335.010 to 335.160 and 335.990.\n(3) A licensed social worker may engage in the practice of social work as defined in\nKRS 335.020 but shall not engage in the prac tice of clinical social work as defined\nin KRS 335.020.","path":["KRS Chapter 335"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57516","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:24Z","sha256":"bee04bae30f487eba77aa0b815b0c409e1fa4d20648931f8e8c5a60f87028bf1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-335.080","next":"us-ky/krs-335.100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
