{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-335.130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 335.130","heading":"License renewal -- Fees -- Waiver.","body":"(1) Each certified social worker, licensed social worker and licensed clinical social\nworker shall renew his or her license every three (3) years, and shall pay the board a\nrenewal fee as established by the board by promulgation of an administrative\nregulation.\n(2) Licensees whose licenses are renewed by the board shall be issued a renewal\nlicense.\n(3) Renewal fees shall be waived for any licensee actually serving in the Armed Forces\nof the United States. The waiver shall be effective for six (6) months followi ng\nhonorable discharge, separation, or release from the Armed Forces, after which\nperiod a license shall be considered lapsed.\n(4) The board may, at its discretion, require continuing education as a condition of\nlicense renewal.\n(5) If the board requires c ontinuing education as authorized in subsection (4) of this\nsection, the continuing education requirements for each licensed social worker and\neach licensed clinical social worker shall include:\n(a) One and one -half (1.5) hours of continuing education appr oved by the board\nand covering the recognition and prevention of pediatric abusive head trauma,\nas defined in KRS 620.020, at least one (1) time every six (6) years; and\n(b) One (1) hour one (1) time every three (3) years of continuing education\napproved b y the board and covering the recognition and prevention of\npediatric ingestion or inhalation of controlled substances.\nThe continuing education required under this subsection shall be included in the\ncurrent number of required continuing education hours.","path":["KRS Chapter 335"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57472","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:24Z","sha256":"cda20762891462ccbb6cec94e5ce56e3ef50dc0cc2f74c278c76d84a60421e89","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-335.120","next":"us-ky/krs-335.135"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
