{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-335.325","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 335.325","heading":"Powers of board.","body":"The board may:\n(1) Employ needed personnel;\n(2) Issue subpoenas, examine witnesses, pay appropriate witness fees, administer oaths,\nand investigate allegations of practices violating the provisions of this chapter;\n(3) Seek injunctive relief in Franklin Circuit Court to stop the unlawful practice of\nmarriage and family therapy by unlicensed persons;\n(4) Conduct hearings pursuant to KRS Chapter 13B and keep records and minutes\nnecessary to carry out the functions of this chapter;\n(5) Suspend or revoke licenses or permits or impose supervisory or probation ary\nconditions upon licensees or permit holders, or impose administrative disciplinary\nfines, issue written reprimands or admonishments, or any combination thereof;\n(6) Grant retired or inactive licensure status under conditions set forth by the board by\nthe promulgation of administrative regulations;\n(7) Enter into reciprocal agreements with boards of marriage and family therapy in\nother states having licensure qualifications and requirements that meet or exceed\nthose provided in this chapter;\n(8) Organize itself into two (2) panels to separate the functions of inquiry and hearings.\nEach panel shall have the power to act as either an inquiry or hearing panel. No\nmember serving on the inquiry panel shall serve on the hearing panel for any one\nparticular case. Any final decision of the hearing panel shall be considered as the\nfinal decision of the board and the hearing panel may exercise all powers granted to\nthe board pursuant to KRS Chapter 13B; and\n(9) Utilize mediation as a technique to resolve disciplinary matters.","path":["KRS Chapter 335"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31944","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:24Z","sha256":"0b61a58135a50abf2ccc7bfd64eaffa05dbd89895474d40c4bbf5f7f18c43617","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-335.320","next":"us-ky/krs-335.330"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
