{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-335.330","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 335.330","heading":"Initial fee for licensure -- Requirements for certification.","body":"An applicant for licensure as a marriage and family therapist shall pay the board an initial\nfee which shall be established by administrative regulation promulgated by the board. The\napplicant shall show the board that the applicant has:\n(1) Completed a ma ster's or doctoral degree program in marriage and family therapy,\nfrom a regionally-accredited educational institution, or a master's, post -master's, or\ndoctoral program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and\nFamily Therapy Education or any of its successor organizations, or an equivalent\ncourse of study as defined by the board by promulgation of administrative\nregulations.\n(a) The degree or equivalent course of study shall contain specific coursework on\npsychopathology and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual; and\n(b) In determining equivalency, the board shall use the criteria for marriage and\nfamily therapy education and clinical training approved by the United States\nDepartment of Education;\n(2) Completed each of the following:\n(a) At least two (2) years' experience in the practice of marriage and family\ntherapy, acceptable to the board and subsequent to being granted a master's\ndegree; and\n(b) A minimum of two hundred (200) hours of clinical supervision acceptable to\nthe board and subsequent to being granted a master's degree; and\n(3) Passed a written examination prescribed by the board by promulgation of\nadministrative regulations.","path":["KRS Chapter 335"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31945","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:24Z","sha256":"aabae7d7b2ad3c6db19d5624706aa974156f529764178851029f2433fd9d46f9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-335.325","next":"us-ky/krs-335.332"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
