{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-335.515","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 335.515","heading":"Powers and duties of board.","body":"(1) The board shall administer and enforce the provisions of KRS 335.500 to 335.599\nand shall evaluate the qualifications of applicants for licensure.\n(2) The board may issue subpoenas, examine witnesses, pay appropriate witness fees,\nadminister oaths, and inv estigate allegations of practices violating the provisions of\nKRS 335.500 to 335.599.\n(3) The board shall promulgate administrative regulations pursuant to KRS Chapter\n13A as necessary to carry out and enforce the provisions of KRS 335.500 to\n335.599, including the establishment of fees.\n(4) The board shall conduct hearings as necessary pursuant to KRS Chapter 13B and\nshall keep records and minutes necessary to carry out the function of KRS 335.500\nto 335.599.\n(5) The board shall issue credentials to qualified candidates.\n(6) The board shall renew credentials subject to the provisions of KRS 335.535 and\nshall require ten (10) continuing education hours as a condition for renewal each\nyear.\n(7) The board may suspend or revoke credentials, impose supervisory o r probationary\nconditions upon certificate holders, impose administrative disciplinary fines, issue\nwritten reprimands and admonishments, or perform any combination thereof.\n(8) The board may seek injunctive relief in Franklin Circuit Court to enjoin viola tion of\nKRS 335.505(1).\n(9) The board may grant retired status or inactive status to a credential holder under\nconditions set out in administrative regulations promulgated by the board.\n(10) The board may employ persons as necessary to carry on its work an d shall define\nthose persons' duties and fix their compensation.\n(11) The board shall promulgate by administrative regulation a code of ethics for and\nstandards of practice for all credential holders.\n(12) The board may enter into reciprocal agreements wit h certified or licensed\nprofessional counseling boards.","path":["KRS Chapter 335"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31959","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:24Z","sha256":"419cfd3cd8cd166cac622e4dabf4fd1751e95f117abd148a0f69a61987f8dac2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-335.510","next":"us-ky/krs-335.517"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
