{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-335.605","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 335.605","heading":"Definitions for KRS 335.600 to 335.699.","body":"As used in KRS 335.600 to 335.699, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Board\" means the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Pastoral Counselors;\n(2) \"Kentucky licensed pastoral counselor\" or \"license holder\" means an ordained\nminister or the denominational equivalent who:\n(a) Has completed a master of divinity degree and an advanced degree program in\npastoral counseling, or an equivalent course of study approved by the board,\nfrom an accredited seminary or other accredited educational institution;\n(b) Is licensed by the board; and\n(c) Engages in the practice of pastoral counseling;\n(3) \"Pastoral counseling\" means the practice of pastoral counseling at an advanced\nlevel, equivalent to the standards of practice set by the American Association of\nPastoral C ounselors for the \"fellow\" level, that involves integrating spiritual\nresources with insights from the behavioral sciences; and\n(4) \"Ordained minister or the denominational equivalent\" means a person who has been\ncalled, elected, or otherwise authorized by  a church, synagogue, denomination, or\nfaith group through ordination, consecration, or equivalent means, to exercise\nwithin and on the behalf of the denomination or faith group specific religious\nleadership and service that furthers its purpose and mission.","path":["KRS Chapter 335"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43262","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:24Z","sha256":"248308a61d39f25aad4e834923ec6d75054d908e35df3fd91b16e6a6c7ae99fe","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-335.600","next":"us-ky/krs-335.610"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
