{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-337.050","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 337.050","heading":"Time and a half for work done on seventh day of week -- Exceptions.","body":"(1) Any employer who permits any employee to work seven (7) days in any one (1)\nworkweek shall pay him at the rate of time and a half for the time worked on the\nseventh day. For the purposes of this subsection, the term \"workweek\" shall mean a\ncalendar week or  any other period of seven (7) consecutive days adopted by the\nemployer as the workweek with the intention that the same shall be permanent and\nwithout the intention to evade the overtime provision set out herein.\n(2) (a) Subsection (1) shall not apply in any case in which the employee is not\npermitted to work more than forty (40) hours during the workweek. In that\ncase the employer may credit against the overtime payable under this section\nany overtime paid by him to the employees for the same hours under the\nrequirements of any other law or contract.\n(b) Subsection (1) shall not apply to telephone exchanges having less than five\nhundred (500) subscribers, nor to stenographers, bookkeepers, or technical\nassistants of professions such as doctors, accountants , lawyers, and other\nprofessions licensed under the laws of this state, nor to any employees subject\nto the Federal Railway Labor Act and seamen or persons engaged in operating\nboats or other water transportation facilities upon navigable streams, nor to\npersons engaged in icing railroad cars, nor to common carriers under the\nsupervision of the Department of Vehicle Regulation.\n(3) \"Employee\" as used in subsection (1) does not include any officer, superintendent,\nforeman, or supervisor whose duties are prin cipally limited to directing or\nsupervising other employees.","path":["KRS Chapter 337"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32049","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:26Z","sha256":"9f1de88652ade07dd34f26642a108dd6533b6619ccb4ebeba4574dec5512606b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-337.040","next":"us-ky/krs-337.055"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
