{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-339.450","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 339.450","heading":"Enforcement of law -- Right to enter and inspect premises and records.","body":"(1) It shall be the duty of the Department of Workplace Standards and of the inspectors\nand agents of said department, with the assistance of the school directors of pupil\npersonnel, police officers and juvenile session of District Court probation officers,\nto enforce the provisions of KRS 339.210 to 339.450, to make complaints against\npersons violating the provisions of those sections, and to prosecute violations\nthereof. The Department of Workplace Standards, its inspectors and agents shall\nhave authority to enter and inspect at any time any place or establishment covered\nby KRS 339.210 to 339.450, and to have access to age certificates kept on file by\nthe employer and such other records as may aid in the enforcement of KRS 339.210\nto 339.450. School directors of pupil personnel are likewise empowered to visit and\ninspect places where minors may be employed, and shall report any cases of\nemployment that they find in violation of KRS 339.210 to 339.450 to the\nDepartment of Workplace Standards.\n(2) Any person aut horized to enforce KRS 339.210 to 339.450 may require an\nemployer of a minor for whom an age certificate is not on file either to furnish him\nor her within ten (10) days the evidence showing that the minor is at least eighteen\n(18) years of age or to cease  to employ or permit or suffer such minor to work.\nProof of the making of such demand and of failure to deliver such proof of age shall\nbe prima facie evidence, in any prosecution brought for violation of KRS 339.210 to\n339.450, that such minor is under ei ghteen (18) years of age and is unlawfully\nemployed.","path":["KRS Chapter 339"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32207","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:28Z","sha256":"d8e2145a86a984225f5ea5682484e0b647a756b00a5c685d43be2e291dd53eea","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-339.440","next":"us-ky/krs-339.460"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
