{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-341.069","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 341.069","heading":"Governmental entity.","body":"For the purpose of this chapter, a governmental entity is:\n(1) The state government of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and its instrumentalities\nor a governmental unit thereof as provided for in KRS 341.060;\n(2) A county government and its instrumentalities;\n(3) A city or municipal government and its instrumentalities;\n(4) A city-county urban (merged) government and its instrumentalities;\n(5) A public school district and its instrumentalities;\n(6) An independent governmental organization established pursuant t o Kentucky\nRevised Statutes or by executive order of the Governor;\n(7) A special district that is funded or partially funded by county government;\n(8) A joint operation of two (2) or more of the units defined in subsections (1) through\n(7) above;\n(9) A joint operation of one (1) or more of the units defined in subsections (1) through\n(8) above with another state or a political subdivision or instrumentality thereof;\n(10) An employing unit which has service performed in covered employment pursuant to\nKRS 341.050(1)(d) which is not defined as a governmental entity in subsections (1)\nthrough (9) of this section is a governmental entity under this subsection.","path":["KRS Chapter 341"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32240","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:28Z","sha256":"8d0ef36724130664ffbdfa7897be43b72baaf212f95b9d857ac6086db3f65608","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-341.067","next":"us-ky/krs-341.070"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
