{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-341.301","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 341.301","heading":"Penalty for payment with nonnegotiable instrument.","body":"(1) If any check tendered to the cabinet in payment of any contribution or penalty due\nunder this chapter or as restitution for the overpayment of benefits is not paid when\npresented to the drawee bank for payment, there shall be paid as a penalty by the\nparty who tendered the check, upon notice and demand of the cabinet, an amount\nequal to ten percent (10%) of such check. The penalty under this section shall not be\nless than ten dollars ($10) or more than one hundred dollars ($100).\n(2) If the party who tender ed the check demonstrates to the cabinet's satisfaction that\nfailure to pay the check resulted from error by other parties, then the cabinet shall\nwaive the penalty.\n(3) Penalties collected under this section shall be credited to the unemployment\ncompensation administration fund.","path":["KRS Chapter 341"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32286","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:29Z","sha256":"598d2f7852bca0179a5a36de94a56c817140c83bf608e9781141a65da464f75c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-341.300","next":"us-ky/krs-341.305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
