{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-341.4169","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 341.4169","heading":"Shared work unemployment compensation eligibility.","body":"(1) An individual is eligible to receive shared work unemployment compensation\nbenefits with respect to any week only if the secretary finds that:\n(a) The individual is employed as a member of an affected group under an\napproved plan that was approved by the s ecretary before the week and is in\neffect for the week;\n(b) The individual is able to work and is available for the normal work week with\nthe shared work employer; and\n(c) The normal weekly hours of work of the individual are reduced by at least ten\npercent (10%) but not more than forty percent (40%), with a corresponding\nreduction in wages.\n(2) A worker shall not be denied shared work benefits if he or she is otherwise eligible\nfor these benefits for any week by reason of the application of any provision o f this\nchapter relating to availability for work, active search for work or participation in\nwork search activities, or refusal to apply for or accept work from other than the\nworker's shared work employer.\n(3) A worker shall not be denied shared work bene fits if he or she is otherwise eligible\nfor these benefits for any week because he or she is participating in any employer\nsponsored training or worker training funded by the Workforce Innovation and\nOpportunity Act, 29 U.S.C. ch. 32.\n(4) Notwithstanding a ny other provision in this chapter, a worker shall be deemed\nunemployed in any week for which compensation is payable to him or her, as an\nemployee in an affected group, for less than his or her normal weekly hours of work\nin accordance with an approved plan in effect for the week.","path":["KRS Chapter 341"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54212","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:29Z","sha256":"6ea98b3599ca256ebdad96146e1405175289186f78acc4bb3218302f549791c8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-341.4167","next":"us-ky/krs-341.4171"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
