{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-342.335","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 342.335","heading":"Fraud and misrepresentation in filing or delaying the filing of claims and","body":"in receiving or providing services or benefits -- Penalties.\n(1) No person shall knowingly file, or permit to be filed, any false or fraudulent claim\non his or her behalf to co mpensation or other benefits under this chapter, or by\nfraud, deceit, or misrepresentation procure or cause to be made or receive any\npayments of compensation or other benefits under this chapter to which the\nrecipient is not lawfully entitled, or conspire  with, aid, or abet another so to do. No\nperson shall by deceit or misrepresentation or with intent to defraud cause or\nprocure or conspire with, aid or abet another in so causing or procuring any person\nentitled to compensation or other benefits under thi s chapter to delay or omit to\nclaim title thereto or to accept the payment of a less sum than that to which he or\nshe may be lawfully entitled thereunder.\n(2) Any person, as that term is defined in KRS 342.0011, who knowingly, as defined in\nKRS 501.020, ma kes any false representation, including misrepresentations of\nhazards, classifications, payrolls, or other facts by an employer or its agent that are\ndesigned to cause a reduction in the employer's premium, for the purpose of or in\nthe course of receiving or providing any service or benefit available under this\nchapter, shall be subject to the civil fines imposed pursuant to KRS 342.990 for a\nviolation of this subsection. In addition, if a person who violates the provisions of\nthis subsection is also depend ent upon a professional license to provide any service\nor benefit under this chapter, the commissioner shall refer the matter to the\nappropriate licensing body and recommend revocation of that person's license to\nwork at his or her profession in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.","path":["KRS Chapter 342"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32479","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:31Z","sha256":"f38daf5e6eddf1c62e5295f39663558c9dd084964d0c598d461d50073fc3852c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-342.330","next":"us-ky/krs-342.340"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
