{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-342.902","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 342.902","heading":"Definitions for KRS 342.900 to 342.912.","body":"As used in KRS 342.900 to 342.912, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Insolvent self-insurer\" means either an individual self -insured employer or a self -\ninsured group who has failed to pay compensation as a result of a declaration of\nbankruptcy or insolvency by a court of competent jurisdiction, and whose security\ndeposit has been called by the commissioner, or who has failed to provide\ncompensation and who has been issued a certificate of default by the commissioner\nand whose security deposit has been called by the commissioner;\n(2) \"Member\" means a self-insured employer or self-insured group that participates in a\nguaranty fund created pursuant to KRS 342.900 to 342.912;\n(3) \"Guaranty fund\" means one (1) of the three (3) guaranty funds established  pursuant\nto KRS 342.900 to 342.912;\n(4) \"Directors\" means the board of directors of a guaranty fund; and\n(5) \"Certificate of default\" means a notice issued by the commissioner based upon a\nfinding that a self -insured employer or self -insured group has fai led to pay\ncompensation required by this chapter.","path":["KRS Chapter 342"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32583","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:32Z","sha256":"efde75c6f148b82f58ddfc3ea32cb39caceecb5172f8668305a4d87d60e9f535","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-342.900","next":"us-ky/krs-342.904"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
