{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-343.050","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 343.050","heading":"Apprenticeship or on-the-job training agreement -- Contents.","body":"Every apprenticeship or on -the-job training agreement approved under this chapter shall\ncontain:\n(1) The names and signatures of the contracting parties and the signature of a parent or\nguardian if the apprentice is a minor;\n(2) The date of birth of the apprentice or trainee;\n(3) A statement of the occupation or business which the apprentice or trainee is to be\ntaught and the time at which the apprenticeship or on-the-job training will begin and\nend;\n(4) A statement showing:\n(a) 1. The number of hours t o be spent by the apprentice or trainee in work on\nthe job in a time-based program; or\n2. A description of the skill sets to be attained by completion of a\ncompetency-based program, including the on -the-job training\ncomponent; or\n3. The minimum number of h ours to be spent by the apprentice and a\ndescription of the skill sets to be attained by completion of a hybrid\nprogram; and\n(b) The number of hours to be spent in related instruction in technical subjects\nrelated to the occupation, which shall be not less  than one hundred forty -four\n(144) hours per year;\n(5) A statement setting forth a schedule of the processes in the occupation or industry\ndivisions in which the apprentice or trainee is to be taught and the approximate time\nto be spent at each process;\n(6) A statement of the graduating scale of compensation to be paid the apprentice or\ntrainee, and whether the required school time shall be compensated;\n(7) A statement providing for a period of probation not to exceed twenty -five percent\n(25%) of the leng th of the program or one (1) year, whichever is shorter, during\nwhich the apprenticeship or on -the-job training agreement may be canceled by\neither party to the agreement upon written notice to the registration agency, without\nadverse impact on the sponsor; and\n(8) A provision that all controversies or differences concerning the apprenticeship or\non-the-job training agreement which cannot be adjusted by the parties shall be\nsubmitted to the supervisor for determination as provided in KRS 343.070.","path":["KRS Chapter 343"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42989","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:33Z","sha256":"74e49735fa98e8ecefbeedc30d77b7403884bef093e20553057566e314aa4626","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-343.040","next":"us-ky/krs-343.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
