{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-344.320","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 344.320","heading":"Powers of local commissions.","body":"A local commission may be authorized to:\n(1) Receive, initiate, investigate, hear, and determine charges of violations of\nordinances, orders, or resolutions forbidding discrimination adopted by the city or\ncounty.\n(2) Compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of evidence before it by\nsubpoena issued by the Circuit Court of the county wherein the local commission is\nauthorized to act.\n(3) Issue remedial orders, after notice and hearing, requiring cessation of violations.\n(4) Issue such affirmative orders as in the judgment of the local comm ission will carry\nout the purposes of this chapter. Affirmative action ordered may include but is not\nlimited to the remedies enumerated in subsection (3) of KRS 344.230.\n(5) Employ an executive director, attorneys, hearing examiners, clerks and other\nemployees and agents.\n(6) Accept grants, gifts, or bequests, public or private to help finance its activities.","path":["KRS Chapter 344"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32635","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:33Z","sha256":"a5d50a19a2c4569ce41a5e1ab72531ae101fa7a17c2e589dbea0a0c6996b181f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-344.310","next":"us-ky/krs-344.330"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
