{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-344.362","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 344.362","heading":"Exceptions to unlawful practice of discrimination because of sex.","body":"Nothing in KRS 344.360 shall apply to:\n(1) The YMCA, YWCA, and similar type single sex dormitory rental properties,\nincluding, but not limited to, those dormitories operated by institutions of higher\neducation;\n(2) A landlord who refused to rent to an unmarried couple of opposite sex;\n(3) A landlord who chooses to rent only to men or only to women; provided that the\nlandlord engages in the rental to no more than ten (10) persons or of no more than\nten (10) self-contained units in an owner occupied housing accommodation;\n(4) Rooms or rental units where tenants would be required to share common bath or\nkitchen facilities; and\n(5) To any housing accommodation where it can be demonstrated that gender -based\nexclusions are necessary for reasons of personal modesty or privacy.","path":["KRS Chapter 344"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32640","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:33Z","sha256":"ce5a52e68b4057a241b41376bd8147d8cfd568fc14da8dd35fceda80993adfc7","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-344.360","next":"us-ky/krs-344.365"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
