{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-344.400","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 344.400","heading":"Unlawful practices in connection with credit transactions -- Exceptions.","body":"(1) It shall be an unlawful practice for any person, whether acting for himself or\nanother, in connection with any credit transaction because of race, color, religion,\nnational origin or sex to:\n(a) deny credit to any person;\n(b) increase the charges or fees for or collateral required to secure any credit\nextended to any person;\n(c) restrict the amount or use of credit extended or impose different terms or\nconditions with respect to the credit extended to any person or any item or\nservice related thereto;\n(d) attempt to do any of the unlawful practices defined in this section.\n(2) The provisions of this section shall not prohibit any party to a credit transaction\nfrom considering the credit history of any individual applicant.\n(3) The provisions of thi s section shall not prohibit any party to a credit transaction\nfrom considering the application of Kentucky law on dower, curtesy, descent and\ndistribution to the particular case or from taking reasonable action thereon.","path":["KRS Chapter 344"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32647","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:33Z","sha256":"ca39e5831bdae15f94e742a2a982f1da9c5669446717d54e3c29eccb909d270d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-344.385","next":"us-ky/krs-344.450"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
