{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-344.635","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 344.635","heading":"Election of method for securing relief.","body":"When a discriminatory housing charge is filed under KRS 344.625, a complainant, a\nrespondent, or the aggrieved person on whose behalf the complaint is filed, may elect to\nhave the claims asserted in that charge decided in a civil action under KRS 344.670, in\nlieu of an administrative hearing before the commission under KRS 344.640.\n(1) The election shall be made not later than twenty (20) days after the receipt by the\nelecting person of service under KRS 344.630, from the commission or, in the case\nof the c ommission, not later than twenty (20) days after service to the respondent\nand complainant.\n(2) The person making the election shall give written notice of doing so to the\ncommission and to all other complainants and respondents to whom the charge\nrelates.","path":["KRS Chapter 344"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32667","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:33Z","sha256":"5f74172feff44eed5fc00c94c48547954d1d8b13305caabd62391df278bcdfc3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-344.630","next":"us-ky/krs-344.640"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
