{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-344.650","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 344.650","heading":"Civil action for relief from discriminatory housing practice or breach of","body":"conciliation agreement -- Time limitation.\n(1) An aggrieved person may file a civil action in an appropriate Circuit Court not later\nthan two (2) years after the occurrence or t he termination of an alleged\ndiscriminatory housing practice, or the breach of a conciliation agreement entered\ninto as the result of an alleged discriminatory housing practice, whichever occurs\nlast, to obtain appropriate relief with respect to the discri minatory housing practice\nor breach.\n(2) The computation of the two (2) year period shall not include any time during which\nan administrative proceeding under this chapter is pending with respect to a\ncomplaint or charge of an alleged discriminatory housin g practice. This subsection\ndoes not apply to actions arising from a breach of a conciliation agreement entered\ninto as a result of an alleged discriminatory housing practice.\n(3) An aggrieved person may file a civil action under this section whether or no t a\ncomplaint has been filed under KRS 344.600, and without regard to the status of\nany such complaint, but:\n(a) If the commission has obtained a conciliation agreement with the consent of\nan aggrieved person, the aggrieved person may not file an action un der this\nsection with respect to the alleged discriminatory housing practice which\nforms the basis for the complaint except for the purposes of enforcing the\nterms of the conciliation agreement; and\n(b) An aggrieved person may not file a civil action under  this section with respect\nto an alleged discriminatory housing practice which forms the basis of a\ncharge issued by the commission if the commission has commenced a hearing.","path":["KRS Chapter 344"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32670","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:34Z","sha256":"2337c88e6f3be4b270d5c59af660ed21fb64773838a74c23e7a19994c0604689","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-344.645","next":"us-ky/krs-344.655"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
