{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-345.030","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 345.030","heading":"Employees' right to organize for the purpose of collective bargaining.","body":"(1) Firefighters of a city of the first class shall have, and shall be protected in the\nexercise of, the right of self -organization, to form, join, or assist any labor\norganization, to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing\non quest ions of wages, hours, and other conditions of employment free from\ninterference, restraint, or coercion.\n(2) Labor organizations designated by the State Labor Relations Board as the\nrepresentative of the majority of firefighters in an appropriate unit or r ecognized by\na public employer as the representative of the majority of employees in an\nappropriate unit shall be the exclusive representative for the employees of such unit\nfor the purpose of collective bargaining with respect to rates of pay, wages, hour s,\nand other conditions of employment.\n(3) Labor organizations recognized by a public employer as the exclusive representative\nor so designated in accordance with the provisions of this chapter shall be\nresponsible for representing the interest of all fire fighters in the unit without\ndiscrimination.","path":["KRS Chapter 345"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32680","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:34Z","sha256":"1eb13e16660326ee0c665a765dabcebdeb2b20d54c6eb4afb77d5abf2616ab89","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-345.020","next":"us-ky/krs-345.040"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
