{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-35.055","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 35.055","heading":"Place of confinement -- Reports and receiving of prisoners.","body":"(1) If a person subject to this code is confined before, during, or after trial, confinement\nshall be in a civilian or military confinement facility.\n(2) No person authorized to receive prisoners pursuant to subsection (1) of this section\nmay refuse to receive  or keep any prisoner committed to the person's charge by a\ncommissioned officer of the state military forces, when the committing officer\nfurnishes a statement, signed by the officer, of the offense charged against the\nprisoner, unless otherwise authorized by law.\n(3) Every person authorized to receive prisoners pursuant to subsection (1) of this\nsection, to whose charge a prisoner is committed shall, within twenty -four (24)\nhours after that commitment or as soon as he or she is relieved from guard, report to\nthe commanding officer of the prisoner the name of the prisoner, the offense\ncharged against the prisoner, and the name of the person who ordered or authorized\nthe commitment.","path":["KRS Chapter 35"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=41889","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:51Z","sha256":"912ab508d51779308ed4dc6b19edb3de78bf665019377183f1f399f1265aff01","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-35.050","next":"us-ky/krs-35.057"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
