{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-35.577","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 35.577","heading":"Mutiny or sedition.","body":"(1) Any person subject to this code shall be punished as a court-martial may direct who:\n(a) With intent to usurp or override lawful military authority, refuses, in concert\nwith any other person, to obey orders or otherwise do his or her duty or creates\nany violence or disturbance is guilty of mutiny;\n(b) With intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of lawful civil authority,\ncreates, in concert with any other person, revolt, violence, or other disturbance\nagainst that authority is guilty of sedition; or\n(c) Fails to do his or her utmost to prevent and suppress a mutiny or sedition\nbeing committed in his or her presence, or fails to take all reasonable means to\ninform his or her superior commissioned officer or commanding officer of an\noffense of mutiny or sedition which he or she knows or has reason to believe\nis taking place, is guilty of a failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition.\n(2) A person who is found guilty of attempted mutiny, mutiny, sedition, or failure to\nsuppress or report a mutiny or  sedition shall be punished as a court -martial may\ndirect.","path":["KRS Chapter 35"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=41979","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:53Z","sha256":"e333d56bf8aa0abb6d3735c730d31514ca82cc5654f86e69665b2b533b62552e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-35.575","next":"us-ky/krs-35.580"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
