{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-350.050","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 350.050","heading":"Powers of cabinet.","body":"The Energy and Environment Cabinet under the supervision of the secretary of the\nEnergy and Environment Cabinet shall have and exercise the following authority and\npowers:\n(1) To exercise general supervision and administration and enforcement of this chapt er\nand all rules and regulations and orders promulgated thereunder;\n(2) To encourage and conduct investigations, research, experiments, and\ndemonstrations, and to collect and disseminate information relating to strip mining\nand reclamation of lands and waters affected by strip mining;\n(3) To adopt, without hearing, internal procedures with respect to the filing of reports,\nthe issuance of permits, and other matters of procedure and administration;\n(4) To examine and pass upon all plans and specifications su bmitted by the permit\napplicant for the method of operation, backfilling, grading, and for the reclamation\nof the area of land affected by his operation;\n(5) To make investigations or inspections which may be deemed necessary to insure\ncompliance with any provision of this chapter;\n(6) To order, through personnel of the cabinet, the suspension of any permit for failure\nto comply with any of the provisions of this chapter or any regulations adopted\npursuant thereto;\n(7) To order, through personnel of the cab inet, the stopping of any operation that is\nstarted without first having secured a permit as required by this chapter.","path":["KRS Chapter 350"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32773","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:35Z","sha256":"f2fc713136a2c0e0ae6e96881841f90f2950267362a7e838d4155dbfbef6451c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-350.045","next":"us-ky/krs-350.052"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
