{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-351.310","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 351.310","heading":"Definitions for KRS 351.315 to 351.375.","body":"As used in KRS 351.315 to 351.375 unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:\n(1) \"Explosives\" means any chemical compound or other substance or mechanical\nsystem intended for the purpose of producing an explosion, or that contains\noxidizing and combus tible units or other ingredients in such proportions or\nquantities that ignition by detonation may produce an explosion, capable of causing\ninjury to persons or damage to property;\n(2) \"Blasting operation\" means the use of explosives in the surface blastin g of stone,\nrock, ore or any other natural formation, or in any construction or demolition work,\nbut shall not include its use in agricultural operations;\n(3) \"Blaster\" means a person licensed to fire or detonate explosives in blasting\noperations;\n(4) \"Charge\" means a quantity of explosive or equivalent that is to be detonated within\na period of five (5) seconds;\n(5) \"Subcharge\" means a quantity of explosive or equivalent that is to be detonated\nwithin a period of less than eight (8) milliseconds;\n(6) \"Detonation time\" means the time at which the detonation is initiated;\n(7) \"Department\" means the Department for Natural Resources; and\n(8) \"Commissioner\" means the commissioner of the Department for Natural Resources.","path":["KRS Chapter 351"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=32951","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:37Z","sha256":"05b1521bc4f1e3bd24f45c58a0e55208a805694e1094659eb2cdef52a58f7a09","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-351.250","next":"us-ky/krs-351.315"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
