{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-353.190","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 353.190","heading":"Salt and saltpetre works to be inclosed -- Liability.","body":"(1) The owner or occupant of any salt works and saltpetre works shall keep those\nworks, and the grounds upon which the brine, bitter water or saltpetre water is\ndrained or deposited inclosed, so as to prevent the stock of other persons from\nhaving access thereto.\n(2) When a well or pit sunk for salt water, or in connection with a salt works or\nsaltpetre works, is abandoned or not used, it shall be filled up, or inclosed as\nprovided in subsection (1), by the owner or occupant of the grounds or the persons\nwho sank the well or pit.\n(3) If subsections (1) and (2) are not complied with, and the stock of another is injured\nby gaining access to the well or pit, the persons under the duty to comply with those\nsubsections shall be jointly and severally liable for the damages sustained by the\ninjury to or destruction of the stock.","path":["KRS Chapter 353"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=33068","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:39Z","sha256":"0b4dc562d7249e9c6275a05495ea9a7b078d56293f1a387726762a81364a366d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-353.180","next":"us-ky/krs-353.200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
