{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-353.402","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 353.402","heading":"Definitions for KRS 353.400 to 353.410.","body":"As used in KRS 353.400 to 353.410, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Gas acquisition authority\" or \"authority\" means a natural gas acquisition authority\ncreated pursuant to this section;\n(2) \"Bond\" means any bond, note, or other evidence of indeb tedness issued by an\nAuthority;\n(3) \"Gas\" or \"natural gas\" means natural gas or any substitute for natural gas, including\nsynthetic natural gas, liquefied natural gas, coal gas, or other substance usable in\nlieu of natural gas;\n(4) \"Municipal utility\" means any public agency that:\n(a) Provides gas or electric service to retail customers within a municipal service\narea; or\n(b) Provides wholesale natural gas supply services to public agencies described in\nparagraph (a) of this subsection.\n(5) \"Project\" means any plant, works, system, facility, other real or personal property,\nand interests therein, including drilling rights, operating rights, royalties, overriding\nroyalties, and other rights, titles, and interests, production payments, gas purchase\ncontracts, prepaid gas purchase contracts, and other contractual rights and interests\nnecessary or convenient for the acquisition, transportation, storage, or management\nof natural gas for the purpose of providing the supply requirements of municipal\nutilities; and\n(6) \"Public agency\" has the same meaning as specified in KRS 65.230.","path":["KRS Chapter 353"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=33090","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:39Z","sha256":"5e2d095a4ab6df0bc4a91c8356f03a2f275fa13844e1ae64898c35a888a2be79","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-353.400","next":"us-ky/krs-353.404"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
