{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.2-102","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.2-102","heading":"Scope -- Certain security and other transactions excluded from this","body":"article.\n(1) Unless the context otherwise requires, and except as provided in subsection (3) of\nthis section, this article applies to transactions in goods and, in th e case of a hybrid\ntransaction, it applies to the extent provided in subsection (2) of this section.\n(2) In a hybrid transaction:\n(a) If the sale -of-goods aspects do not predominate, only the provisions of this\narticle which relate primarily to the sale -of-goods aspects of the transaction\napply, and the provisions that relate primarily to the transaction as a whole do\nnot apply; and\n(b) If the sale-of-goods aspects predominate, this article applies to the transaction\nbut does not preclude application in app ropriate circumstances of other law to\naspects of the transaction which do not relate to the sale of goods.\n(3) This article does not:\n(a) Apply to a transaction that, even though in the form of an unconditional\ncontract to sell or present sale, operates only to create a security interest; or\n(b) Impair or repeal any statute regulating sales to consumers, farmers, or other\nspecified classes of buyers.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55629","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:41Z","sha256":"de83d2357ef5a2e96ff30f210fce37241f53f91f94becd4b3dafac0a64e79a1b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.2-101","next":"us-ky/krs-355.2-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
