{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.4a-201","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.4A-201","heading":"Security procedure.","body":"(1) \"Security procedure\" means a procedure established by agreement of a customer\nand a receiving bank for the purpose of:\n(a) Verifying that a payment order or communication amending or canceling a\npayment order is that of the customer; or\n(b) Detecting error  in the transmission or the content of the payment order or\ncommunication.\n(2) A security procedure may:\n(a) Impose an obligation on the receiving bank or the customer; and\n(b) Require the use of algorithms or other codes, identifying words, numbers,\nsymbols, sounds, biometrics, encryption, callback procedures, or similar\nsecurity devices.\n(3) Comparison of a signature on a payment order or communication with an\nauthorized specimen signature of the customer or requiring a payment order to be\nsent from a kno wn email address, IP address, or phone number is not by itself a\nsecurity procedure.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55651","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:45Z","sha256":"2a877e9daf8213656cc0ea3152b82cd7bc018451d390c36a134b12ef67e7942b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.4a-108","next":"us-ky/krs-355.4a-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
