{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.5-106","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.5-106","heading":"Issuance, amendment, cancellation, and duration.","body":"(1) A letter of credit is issued and becomes enforceable according to its terms against\nthe issuer when the issuer sends or otherwise transmits it to the person requested to\nadvise or to the beneficiary. A letter of credit is revocable only if it so provides.\n(2) After a letter of credit is issued, rights and obligations of a beneficiary, applicant,\nconfirmer, and issuer are not affected by an amendment or cancellation to which\nthat person has not consented except to the extent the letter of credit provides tha t it\nis revocable or that the issuer may amend or cancel the letter of credit without that\nconsent.\n(3) If there is no stated expiration date or other provision that determines its duration, a\nletter of credit expires one (1) year after its stated date of issuance or, if none is\nstated, after the date on which it is issued.\n(4) A letter of credit that states that it is perpetual expires five (5) years after its stated\ndate of issuance, or if none is stated, after the date on which it is issued.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=33598","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:45Z","sha256":"d1778f5463755fdaaa06ca2d411b8b9c2d31786d3d95ad3bcdc62c54ce0329a2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.5-105","next":"us-ky/krs-355.5-107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
