{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.7-105","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.7-105","heading":"Reissuance in alternative medium.","body":"(1) Upon request of a person entitled under an electronic document of title, the issuer of\nthe electronic document may issue a tangible document of title as a substitute for\nthe electronic document if:\n(a) The person entitled under the electronic document surr enders control of the\ndocument to the issuer; and\n(b) The tangible document when issued contains a statement that it is issued in\nsubstitution for the electronic document.\n(2) Upon issuance of a tangible document of title in substitution for an electronic\ndocument of title in accordance with subsection (1) of this section:\n(a) The electronic document ceases to have any effect or validity; and\n(b) The person that procured issuance of the tangible document warrants to all\nsubsequent persons entitled under the  tangible document that the warrantor\nwas a person entitled under the electronic document when the warrantor\nsurrendered control of the electronic document to the issuer.\n(3) Upon request of a person entitled under a tangible document of title, the issuer of\nthe tangible document may issue an electronic document of title as a substitute for\nthe tangible document if:\n(a) The person entitled under the tangible document surrenders possession of the\ndocument to the issuer; and\n(b) The electronic document when i ssued contains a statement that it is issued in\nsubstitution for the tangible document.\n(4) Upon issuance of the electronic document of title in substitution for a tangible\ndocument of title in accordance with subsection (1) of this section:\n(a) The tangible document ceases to have any effect or validity; and\n(b) The person that procured issuance of the electronic document warrants to all\nsubsequent persons entitled under the electronic document that the warrantor\nwas a person entitled under the tangible do cument when the warrantor\nsurrendered possession of the tangible document to the issuer.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40606","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:46Z","sha256":"2b7f5461b262d4e4418eac8b53703c44fc872ddb193ca2e4c170588f5d673f36","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.7-104","next":"us-ky/krs-355.7-106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
