{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.7-303","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.7-303","heading":"Diversion -- Reconsignment -- Change of instructions.","body":"(1) Unless the bill of lading otherwise provides, a carrier may deliver the goods to a\nperson or destination other than that stated in the bill or may otherwise dispose of\nthe goods, without liability for misdelivery, on instructions from:\n(a) The holder of a negotiable bill;\n(b) The consignor on a nonnegotiable bill even if the consignee has given contrary\ninstructions;\n(c) The consignee on a nonnegotiable bill in the absence of contrary instructions\nfrom the consignor, if the goods have arrived at the billed destination or if the\nconsignee is in possession of the tangible bill or in control of the electronic\nbill; or\n(d) The consignee on a nonnegotiable bill, if the consignee is entitled as against\nthe consignor to dispose of the goods.\n(2) Unless instructions  described in subsection (1) of this section are included in a\nnegotiable bill of lading, a person to which the bill is duly negotiated may hold the\nbailee according to the original terms.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40620","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:46Z","sha256":"7343e4f7509d52dbb337141612a617d87e7962b9da28b316139ecff7aa809772","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.7-302","next":"us-ky/krs-355.7-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
