{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.8-104","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.8-104","heading":"Acquisition of security or financial asset or interest therein.","body":"(1) A person acquires a security or an interest therein, under this article, if:\n(a) The person is a purchaser to whom a security is delivered pursuant to KRS\n355.8-301; or\n(b) The person acquires a security entitlement to the security pursuant to KRS\n355.8-501.\n(2) A person acquires a financial asset, other than a security, or an interest therein,\nunder this article, if the person acquires a security entitlement to the financial asset.\n(3) A person who acquires a security entitlement to a security or other fin ancial asset\nhas the rights specified in Part 5 of this article, but is a purchaser of any security,\nsecurity entitlement, or other financial asset held by the securities intermediary only\nto the extent provided in KRS 355.8-503.\n(4) Unless the context sho ws that a different meaning is intended, a person who is\nrequired by other law, regulation, rule, or agreement to transfer, deliver, present,\nsurrender, exchange, or otherwise put in the possession of another person a security\nor financial asset satisfies that requirement by causing the other person to acquire an\ninterest in the security or financial asset pursuant to subsection (1) or (2) of this\nsection.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=33665","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:46Z","sha256":"b045974f55d0f198f7bb05e7cb3b1d13c536a4fac059a324b19c85c60c894267","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.8-103","next":"us-ky/krs-355.8-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
