{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.9-201","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.9-201","heading":"General effectiveness of security agreement.","body":"(1) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, a security agreement is effective\naccording to its terms between the parties, against purchasers of the collateral, and\nagainst creditors.\n(2) A transaction subject to this article is subject to any applicable rule of law, statute,\nor regulation that establishes a different rule for consumers.\n(3) In case of conflict between this article and a rule of law, statute, or regulation\ndescribed in subsection (2) of this section, the rule of law, statute, or regulation\ncontrols. Failure to comply with a statute or regulation described in subsection (2)\nof this section has only the effect the statute or regulation specifies.\n(4) This article does not:\n(a) Validate any rate, charge, agreement, or practice that violates a rule of law,\nstatute, or regulation described in subsection (2) of this section; or\n(b) Extend the application of the rule of law, statute, or regulation to a transaction\nnot otherwise subject to it.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=33744","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:47Z","sha256":"e435d2f4c53f0f4b5d8129c01695a3fa20ceaa7b58c94cbadacf9ed2d064f428","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.9-116","next":"us-ky/krs-355.9-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
