{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.9-309","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.9-309","heading":"Security interest perfected upon attachment.","body":"The following security interests are perfected when they attach:\n(1) A purchase -money security interest in consumer goods, except as otherwise\nprovided in KRS 355.9 -311(2) with respect to consumer goods that are subject to a\nstatute or treaty described in KRS 355.9-311(1);\n(2) An assignment of accounts or payment intangibles which does not by itself or in\nconjunction with other assignments to the same assignee transfer a significant part\nof the assignor's outstanding accounts or payment intangibles;\n(3) A sale of a payment intangible;\n(4) A sale of a promissory note;\n(5) A security interest created by the assignment of a health -care-insurance receivable\nto the provider of the health-care goods or services;\n(6) A security interest arising under KRS 355.2 -401, 355.2-505, 355.2 -711(3), or\n355.2A-508(5), until the debtor obtains possession of the collateral;\n(7) A security interest of a collecting bank arising under KRS 355.4-210;\n(8) A security interest of an issuer or nominated person arising under KRS 355.5-118;\n(9) A security interest arising in the delivery of a financial asset under KRS 355.9 -\n206(3);\n(10) A security interest in investment property created by a broker or securities\nintermediary;\n(11) A security interest in a commodity contract or a commodity account created by a\ncommodity intermediary;\n(12) An assignment for the benefit of all creditors of the transferor and subsequent\ntransfers by the assignee thereunder;\n(13) A security interest created by an assignment of a beneficial interest in a decedent 's\nestate; and\n(14) A sale by an individual of an account that is a right to payment of winnings in a\nlottery or other game of chance.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=33762","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:48Z","sha256":"9c7e2745a4cb18d5c0d822b3c73a1f75adeca98df2f8a26066335a7e1b1d99b1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.9-308","next":"us-ky/krs-355.9-310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
