{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.9-507","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.9-507","heading":"Effect of certain events on effectiveness of financing statement.","body":"(1) A filed financing statement remains effective with respect to collateral that is sold,\nexchanged, leased, licensed, or otherwise disposed of and in which a security\ninterest or agricultural lien continues, even if the secured party knows of or consents\nto the disposition.\n(2) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (3) of this section and KRS 355.9-508, a\nfinancing statement is not rendered ineffective if, after the financing statement is\nfiled, the information provided in the financing statement becomes  seriously\nmisleading under KRS 355.9-506.\n(3) If the name that a filed financing statement provides for a debtor becomes\ninsufficient as the name of the debtor under KRS 355.9 -503(1) so that the financing\nstatement becomes seriously misleading under KRS 355.9-506:\n(a) The financing statement is effective to perfect a security interest in collateral\nacquired by the debtor before, or within four (4) months after, the filed\nfinancing statement becomes seriously misleading; and\n(b) The financing statement is n ot effective to perfect a security interest in\ncollateral acquired by the debtor more than four (4) months after the filed\nfinancing statement becomes seriously misleading, unless an amendment to\nthe financing statement which renders the financing statemen t not seriously\nmisleading is filed within four (4) months after the filed financing statement\nbecomes seriously misleading.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40681","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:48Z","sha256":"1f6303734e2b4acd913529621fcc44bd545d4f7e6798658920ef4b850a952c78","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.9-506","next":"us-ky/krs-355.9-508"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
