{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.9-520","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.9-520","heading":"Acceptance and refusal to accept record.","body":"(1) A filing office shall refuse to accept a record for filing for a reason set forth in KRS\n355.9-516(2) and may refuse to accept a record for filing only for a reason set forth\nin KRS 355.9-516(2) or 355.9-518.\n(2) If a filing office refuses to accept a reco rd for filing, it shall communicate to the\nperson that presented the record the fact of and reason for the refusal and the date\nand time the record would have been filed had the filing office accepted it. The\ncommunication must be made at the time and in t he manner prescribed by filing -\noffice rule but in no event more than two (2) business days after the filing office\nreceives the record.\n(3) A filed financing statement satisfying KRS 355.9-502(1) and (2) is effective, even if\nthe filing office is required to refuse to accept it for filing under subsection (1) of\nthis section or refuses to accept for filing for a reason set forth in this section or\nKRS 355.9 -518. However, KRS 355.9 -338 applies to a filed financing statement\nproviding information described in  KRS 355.9-516(2)(e) which is incorrect at the\ntime the financing statement is filed.\n(4) If a record communicated to a filing office provides information that relates to more\nthan one (1) debtor, this part of this article applies as to each debtor separately.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40688","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:48Z","sha256":"1dd25b173c5a63d5f5e653fc73cbcdb4c034fd4a146091c3e1e60b4de31f6df2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.9-519","next":"us-ky/krs-355.9-521"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
