{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.9-523","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.9-523","heading":"Information from filing office -- Sale or license of records.","body":"(1) If a person that files a written record requests an acknowledgment of the filing, the\nfiling office shall send to the person an image of the record showing the number\nassigned to the record pursuant to KRS 355.9-519(1)(a) and the date and time of the\nfiling of the record. However, if the person furnishes a copy of the record to the\nfiling office, the filing office may instead:\n(a) Note upon the copy the number assigned to the record pursuant to KRS 355.9-\n519(1)(a) and the date and time of the filing of the record; and\n(b) Send the copy to the person.\n(2) If a person files a record other than a written record, the filing office shall\ncommunicate to the person an acknowledgment that provides:\n(a) The information in the record;\n(b) The number assigned to the record pursuant to KRS 355.9-519(1)(a); and\n(c) The date and time of the filing of the record.\n(3) The filing office shall communicate or otherwise make available in a record the\nfollowing information to any person that requests it:\n(a) Whether there is on f ile on a date and time specified by the filing office, but\nnot a date earlier than three (3) business days before the filing office receives\nthe request, any financing statement that:\n1. Designates a particular debtor;\n2. Has not lapsed under KRS 355.9 -515 with respect to all secured parties\nof record; and\n3. If the request so states, has lapsed under KRS 355.9 -515 and a record of\nwhich is maintained by the filing office under KRS 355.9-522(1);\n(b) The date and time of filing of each financing statement; and\n(c) The information provided in each financing statement.\n(4) In complying with its duty under subsection (3) of this section, the filing office may\ncommunicate information in any medium. However , if requested, the filing office\nshall communicate information by issuing its written certificate.\n(5) The filing office shall perform the acts required by subsections (1) to (4) of this\nsection at the time and in the manner prescribed by filing -office rule, but not later\nthan two (2) business days after the filing office receives the request.\n(6) At least weekly, the Secretary of State shall offer to sell or license to the public on a\nnonexclusive basis, in bulk, copies of all records filed in it under th is part of this\narticle, in every medium from time to time available to the filing office.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=33828","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:48Z","sha256":"6911d9fd81ee946ac694cbc92e7c589d62fbe6ef348e9c2f961c098528f485aa","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.9-522","next":"us-ky/krs-355.9-524"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
