{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.9-707","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.9-707","heading":"Amendment of pre-effective-date financing statement.","body":"(1) In this section, \"pre-effective-date financing statement\" means a financing statement\nfiled before July 1, 2001.\n(2) On or after July 1, 2001, a person may add or delete collateral covered by, continue\nor terminate the effectiveness of, or otherwise amend information provided in, a\npre-effective-date financing statement only in accordance with the law of the\njurisdiction governing perfection as provided in Part 3 of this Article. However, the\neffectiveness of a pre -effective-date financing statement also ma y be terminated in\naccordance with the law of the jurisdiction in which the financing statement is filed.\n(3) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (4) of this section, if the law of this\nCommonwealth governs perfection of a security interest, the inf ormation in a pre -\neffective-date financing statement may be amended on or after July 1, 2001, only if:\n(a) The pre-effective-date financing statement and an amendment are filed in the\noffice specified in KRS 355.9-501;\n(b) An amendment is filed in the offi ce specified in KRS 355.9 -501 concurrently\nwith, or after the filing in that office of, an initial financing statement that\nsatisfies KRS 355.9-706(3); or\n(c) An initial financing statement that provides the information as amended and\nsatisfies KRS 355.9-706(3) is filed in the office specified in KRS 355.9-501.\n(4) If the law of this Commonwealth governs perfection of a security interest, the\neffectiveness of a pre -effective-date financing statement may be continued only\nunder KRS 355.9-705(4) and (6) or 355.9-706.\n(5) Whether or not the law of this Commonwealth governs perfection of a security\ninterest, the effectiveness of a pre -effective-date financing statement filed in this\nCommonwealth may be terminated on or after July 1, 2001, by filing a termination\nstatement in the office in which the pre -effective-date financing statement is filed,\nunless an initial financing statement that satisfies KRS 355.9 -706(3) has been filed\nin the office specified by the law of the jurisdiction governing perfection as\nprovided in Part 3 of this article as the office in which to file a financing statement.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=33867","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:49Z","sha256":"3cf4e300d039c30d1860d09812d46911f1211079d72e67486cf77141b6c5003b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.9-706","next":"us-ky/krs-355.9-708"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
