{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-355.9-807","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 355.9-807","heading":"Amendment of pre-effective-date financing statement.","body":"(1) In this section, \"pre-effective-date financing statement\" means a financing statement\nfiled before July 1, 2013.\n(2) After July 1, 2013, a person may add or delete collateral covered by, continue or\nterminate the effectiveness of, or otherwise amend the in formation provided in, a\npre-effective-date financing statement only in accordance with the law of the\njurisdiction governing perfection as provided in this article as amended by KRS\n355.9-801 to 355.9 -809. However, the effectiveness of a pre -effective-date\nfinancing statement also may be terminated in accordance with the law of the\njurisdiction in which the financing statement is filed.\n(3) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (4) of this section, if the law of this state\ngoverns perfection of a secu rity interest, the information in a pre -effective-date\nfinancing statement may be amended after July 1, 2013, only if:\n(a) The pre-effective-date financing statement and an amendment are filed in the\noffice specified in KRS 355.9-501;\n(b) An amendment is f iled in the office specified in KRS 355.9 -501 concurrently\nwith, or after the filing in that office of, an initial financing statement that\nsatisfies KRS 355.9-806(3); or\n(c) An initial financing statement that provides the information as amended and\nsatisfies KRS 355.9-806(3) is filed in the office specified in KRS 355.9-501.\n(4) If the law of this state governs perfection of a security interest, the effectiveness of a\npre-effective-date financing statement may be continued only under KRS 355.9 -\n805(3) and (5) or 355.9-806.\n(5) Whether or not the law of this state governs perfection of a security interest, the\neffectiveness of a pre -effective-date financing statement filed in this state may be\nterminated after July 1, 2013, by filing a termination statement in the office in\nwhich the pre-effective-date financing statement is filed, unless an initial financing\nstatement that satisfies KRS 355.9 -806(3) has been filed in the office specified by\nthe law of the jurisdiction governing perfection as provided in this  article as\namended by KRS 355.9 -801 to 355.9-809 as the office in which to file a financing\nstatement.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=41132","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:49Z","sha256":"2a2884068ed44550b56b3310bc5055d97a2204415f5e5735e4f39c38e9b4fd97","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-355.9-806","next":"us-ky/krs-355.9-808"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
