{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-362.220","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 362.220","heading":"Nature of partner's liability.","body":"(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, all partners shall be liable:\n(a) Jointly and severally for everything chargeable to the partnership under KRS\n362.210 and 362.215; and\n(b) Jointly for all other debts and obligations of the partnership ; but any partner\nmay enter into a separate obligation to perform a partnership contract.\n(2) Subject to subsection (3) of this section and subject to any agreement among the\npartners, a partner in a registered limited liability partnership shall not be li able\ndirectly or indirectly, including by way of indemnification, contribution, assessment\nor otherwise, for debts, obligations, and liabilities of or chargeable to the\npartnership, whether arising in tort, contract, or otherwise, arising from negligence,\nmalpractice, wrongful acts, or misconduct committed while the partnership is a\nregistered limited liability partnership and in the course of the partnership business\nby another partner or an employee, agent, or representative of the partnership.\n(3) Subsection (2) of this section shall not affect the liability of a partner in a registered\nlimited liability partnership for his own negligence, wrongful acts, or misconduct.","path":["KRS Chapter 362"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=34303","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:55Z","sha256":"c3a70c0595fcdd5455c83b8c21bffda35d8e2f97e6a9e4175c02017782cbd15f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-362.215","next":"us-ky/krs-362.225"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
