{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-363.610","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 363.610","heading":"Testing devices for sale and in use.","body":"When not otherwise provided by law, the director shall have the power to inspect and test,\nto ascertain if they are correct, all weights and measures kept, offered, or exposed for sale.\nIt shall be the duty of the director, within a twelve -month period, or  less frequently if in\naccordance with a schedule issued by him, and as much oftener as he may deem\nnecessary, to inspect and test to ascertain if they are correct, all weights and measures\ncommercially used:\n(1) In determining the weight, measurement, or count of commodities or things sold, or\noffered or exposed for sale, on the basis of weight, measure, or of count, or\n(2) In computing the basic charge or payment for services rendered on the basis of\nweight, measure, or of count.\nProvided, that with res pect to single-service devices (that is, devices designed to be used\ncommercially only once and to be then discarded) and with respect to devices uniformly\nmass-produced, as by means of a mold or die, and not susceptible of individual\nadjustment, tests may be made on representative samples of such devices; and the lots of\nwhich such samples are representative shall be held to be correct or incorrect upon the\nbasis of the results of the inspections and tests on such samples.","path":["KRS Chapter 363"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=34683","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:00Z","sha256":"51a7a0d6d2bf9effd7f66f2b1fedf93b7622165f9372cd2f8bd29b065a1028fb","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-363.600","next":"us-ky/krs-363.620"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
