{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-365.530","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 365.530","heading":"Definitions for KRS 365.530 to 365.536.","body":"As used in KRS 365.530 to 365.536:\n(1) \"Delivery available period\" means the period when a delivery network driver:\n(a) Is operating a personal vehicle;\n(b) Has logged on to a digital network;\n(c) Is eligible to receive requests to provide delivery services from a delivery\nnetwork company; and\n(d) Is not:\n1. Providing delivery services; or\n2. Operating in the delivery service period;\n(2) \"Delivery network company\" means a corporation, partnership, sole proprietorship,\nor other entity that:\n(a) Operates in this state; and\n(b) Uses a digital network to connect a delivery network company customer to a\ndelivery network driver to provide delivery services;\n(3) \"Delivery network company customer\" means a person who orders goods that are\ndelivered by a delivery network driver at the direction of the person;\n(4) \"Delivery network driver\" means an individual who provides delivery services\nthrough a digital network using a personal vehicle;\n(5) \"Delivery service period\" means the period:\n(a) Beginning when a delivery network driver starts operating a personal vehicle\nen route to pick up goods for a delivery or series of deliveries as documented\nvia a digital network controlled by a delivery network company;\n(b) Continuing while the delivery network driver transports the requested delivery\nor deliveries; and\n(c) Ending upon delivery of the requested goods to:\n1. The delivery network company customer or the last delivery network\ncompany customer in a series of deliveries;\n2. A location designated by the delivery network company customer or the\nlast location so designated in a series of deliveries; or\n3. A location designated by the delivery network compan y, including for\npurposes of returning the goods;\n(6) \"Delivery services\":\n(a) Means the fulfillment of delivery requests made by a delivery network\ncompany customer through a digital network; and\n(b) Includes:\n1. The pickup of any goods that are delivered by a delivery network driver;\nand\n2. A series of deliveries to different:\na. Delivery network company customers; or\nb. Locations at the direction of a delivery network company\ncustomer;\n(7) \"Digital network\" means any online -enabled application, software,  website, or\nsystem offered or utilized by a delivery network company that enables deliveries\nwith delivery network drivers; and\n(8) \"Personal vehicle\" means a motor vehicle that is:\n(a) Used by a delivery network driver to provide delivery services; and\n(b) Owned, leased, or otherwise authorized for use by the delivery network\ndriver.","path":["KRS Chapter 365"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55737","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:01Z","sha256":"4221ad8cde21e18854483789e336727f3b2074f2c425e613097280c85811813c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-365.528","next":"us-ky/krs-365.532"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
