{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-365.850","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 365.850","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in KRS 365.855 to 365.875:\n(1) \"Artist\" means the person who creates a work of fine art or, if such person is\ndeceased, such person's heir, legatee, or personal representative;\n(2) \"Fine art\" shall include, but is not limited to, a painting, sculpture, drawing, work of\ngraphic or photog raphic art, including an etching, lithograph, offset print, silk\nscreen, or work of graphic art of like nature, a work of calligraphy, a work of folk\nart or craft, or a work in mixed media including a collage, assemblage, or any\ncombination of the foregoing art media;\n(3) \"Art dealer\" means a person engaged in the business of selling, as either a primary\nor supplemental source of income, works of fine art, other than a person exclusively\nengaged in the business of selling goods at public auction;\n(4) \"Person\" means an individual partnership, corporation, association or other group,\nhowever organized; and\n(5) \"Consignment\" means a delivery of a work of fine art under which no title to, estate\nin, or right to possession of, fine art, superior to that of the co nsignor shall vest in\nthe consignee, notwithstanding the consignee's power or authority to transfer and\nconvey to a third person all of the right, title and interest of the consignor in and to\nsuch fine art.","path":["KRS Chapter 365"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=34862","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:02Z","sha256":"b842a3aab4eea149c526f85749c3767888e002018c8903d93b8fe2055d5f0f75","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-365.840","next":"us-ky/krs-365.855"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
