{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-367.500","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 367.500","heading":"Listing of floral business in telephone directory -- Misrepresentation of","body":"geographical location prohibited - Application.\n(1) A person may not misrepresent the geographical location of a business that derives\nfifty percent (50%) or more of its gross i ncome from the sale or arranging for the\nsale of flowers or floral arrangements in the listing of the business in a telephone\ndirectory or other directory assistance database.\n(2)  A person is considered to misrepresent the geographical location of a busin ess in a\ntelephone directory or other directory assistance database if the name of the\nbusiness indicates that the business is located in a geographical area and:\n(a) The business is not located within the geographical area indicated;\n(b) The listing fails  to identify the municipality and state of the business's\ngeographical location; and\n(c) A telephone call to the local telephone number listed in the telephone\ndirectory or directory assistance database routinely is forwarded or transferred\nto a location that is outside the calling area covered by the telephone directory\nor directory assistance database in which the number is listed.\n(3) A person may place a directory listing for a business described in subsection (1) of\nthis section whose name indicates th at it is located in a geographical area that is\ndifferent from the geographical area in which the business is actually located, only\nif a conspicuous notice in the listing states the municipality and state in which the\nbusiness is located.\n(4) This section  does not apply to a publisher of a telephone directory or other\npublication or a provider of a directory assistance service publishing or providing\ninformation about another business.\n(5) This section creates no duty and imposes no obligation upon anyone other than the\nbusiness that is the subject of the advertisement or listing.\n(6) This section applies only to information supplied to a telephone directory published\nafter June 26, 2007, or to information supplied for entry into a directory assistance\ndatabase after June 26, 2007.","path":["KRS Chapter 367"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35012","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:04Z","sha256":"2a0d5e80fb29efe414e4a5881e5020bd2d816024ddb0759af05c7ed1a3d09df3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-367.4917","next":"us-ky/krs-367.510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
