{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-367.622","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 367.622","heading":"Right to cancel real estate goods or services contract -- Conditions -- Notice","body":"of cancellation.\n(1) A person who enters into a real estate goods or services contract with a contractor\nmay cancel the contract prior to midnight of the fifth b usiness day after the person\nhas received written notice from the insurer that all or part of the claim is not a\ncovered loss under the insurance policy.\n(2) Cancellation shall be deemed to have occurred when the person does any of the\nfollowing:\n(a) Personally delivers written notice of cancellation to the contractor;\n(b) Deposits written notice of cancellation in the United States mail, postage\nprepaid, and addressed to the contractor at the address stated in the contract;\nor\n(c) Transmits notice of cancellation to the contractor by facsimile or email.\n(3) Notice of cancellation need not take a particular form and is sufficient if it indicates\nby any form of written or recorded expression the intention of the person not to be\nbound by the contract.","path":["KRS Chapter 367"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56105","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:04Z","sha256":"5e46cec44f8d4ad505fe0187dabeb883ea5e57af3194e8da6f1e8f2762118490","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-367.621","next":"us-ky/krs-367.624"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
