{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-367.83805","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 367.83805","heading":"Department of Law to establish minimum standards for mold","body":"remediation companies -- Complaints to Attorney General.\n(1) The department shall, after consultation with the Public Protection Cabinet and the\nDepartment for Public Health, establish minimu m standards for mold remediation\ncompanies that operate in the Commonwealth. The minimum standards shall be\nbased on the five (5) general principles of mold remediation created by the Institute\nof Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) in its publication,\nIICRC S520, Second Edition, Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold\nRemediation, or its successor publication. The five (5) general principles of mold\nremediation are as follows:\n(a) Safety and health;\n(b) Project documentation;\n(c) Contaminant control;\n(d) Contaminant removal; and\n(e) Contamination prevention.\nAll mold remediation companies operating in the Commonwealth shall adhere to\nthe minimum standards established by the department.\n(2) Any customer complaints regarding  adherence by mold remediation companies to\nthe administrative regulations promulgated under this section shall be directed to\nthe Attorney General.","path":["KRS Chapter 367"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35084","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:05Z","sha256":"bc1eca7512cd774cf6813805db546445bf8e0f563da8c6966f3136ec839d3646","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-367.83803","next":"us-ky/krs-367.83807"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
