{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-367.982","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 367.982","heading":"Advertisement for rental-purchase agreement.","body":"(1) If an advertisement for a rental-purchase agreement refers to or states the amount of\nany payment or the right to acquire ownership for any specific item, the\nadvertisement also shall state clearly and conspicuously the following items, as\napplicable:\n(a) That the transaction advertised is a rental-purchase agreement;\n(b) The total of payments necessary to acquire ownership; and\n(c) That the consumer acquires no ownership rights if the total amount necessary\nto acquire ownership is not paid.\n(2) Any owner o r personnel of any medium in which an advertisement appears or\nthrough which it is disseminated shall not be liable under this section.\n(3) Subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to an advertisement:\n(a) Which does not refer to a specific item of merchandise;\n(b) Which does not refer to or state the amount of any payment; or\n(c) Which is published in the yellow pages of a telephone directory or any similar\ndirectory of business.\n(4) With respect to matters specifically governed by the Federal Consum er Credit\nProtection Act, compliance with that act shall satisfy the requirements of this\nsection.","path":["KRS Chapter 367"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35154","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:06Z","sha256":"e099f4dc617bcea100cb94c8e03c5b1a7fe565ea006c36dd0c4fafaf9305b3cc","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-367.981","next":"us-ky/krs-367.983"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
