{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-371.180","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 371.180","heading":"Construction services contracts.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Construction services contract\" means:\n1. A contract or agreement relating to the construction, alteration, repair,\naddition to, subtraction from, improvement to, or maintenance of any\nbuilding, highway, road, railroad, excavation, or other structure, pro ject,\ndevelopment, or improvement attached to real estate, including moving\nand demolition connected therewith; or\n2. A contract or agreement relating to the planning, design, administration,\nstudy, evaluation, consulting, or other professional and technical support\nservices provided in connection with any of the work or activities\ndescribed in subparagraph 1. of this paragraph.\n(b) \"Contractor\" means the person offering a contract for services provided.\n(c) \"Contractee\" means the person providing services under a contract.\n(2) Any provision contained in any construction services contract purporting to\nindemnify or hold harmless a contractor from that contractor's own negligence or\nfrom the negligence of his or her agents, or employees is void and wholly\nunenforceable.\n(3) This section does not apply to construction bonds or affect the validity of insurance\ncontracts.\n(4) This section does not affect contracts or agreements entered into before June 20,\n2005.","path":["KRS Chapter 371"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35238","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:07Z","sha256":"b5e72bf869518055887e907c5eb06a93261cb52897334fd41b8e2b68aa540705","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-371.170","next":"us-ky/krs-371.190"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
