{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-371.240","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 371.240","heading":"Contracts made by mail.","body":"(1) Retail installment contracts negotiated and entered into by mail without personal\nsolicitation by salesmen or other representatives of the seller and based upon a\ncatalog of the seller, or other printed solicitation of business, if such catalog or other\nprinted solicitation clearly sets forth the cash sale prices and other terms of sales to\nbe made through such medium, may be made as provided in this section. The\nprovisions of KRS 371.210 to 371.330 with respect to retail installment contracts\nshall be applicable to such sales, except that:\n(a) The designation and notice provisions of subsection (2) of KRS 371.220 shall\nnot be applicable to such contract; and\n(b) The retail installment contract, when completed by the buyer, need not contain\nthe items required by subsection (5) of KRS 371.220.\n(2) When the contract is received from the retail buyer, the seller shall prepare a written\nmemorandum containing all of the information required by subsection (5) of KRS\n371.220 to be included in a retail installment contract. In lieu of delivering a copy of\nthe contract to the retail buyer as provided in subsection (3) of KRS 371.220, the\nseller shall deliver to the buyer a copy of such memorandum prior to the due date of\nthe first installment payable under the contract.","path":["KRS Chapter 371"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35242","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:07Z","sha256":"40e55f2203891c0103de146b5606c9992d12bbea42d2ecbd82903ac61355023f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-371.230","next":"us-ky/krs-371.250"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
